Kawhi Leonard Hid From Spurs Officials When They Visited Him in NYC

The saga between Kawhi Leonard and the San Antonio Spurs gets more intriguing as the days go one. After an injury-plagued season, which now may not have been as bad as assumed, Kawhi and his representation asked to be traded to the Lakers. Now ESPN Spurs beat reporter Mike Wright states during the season the camp of the superstar forward attempted to hide him from team staff in New York City.

“I probably shouldn’t say this, but I’m gonna say it because Kawhi is about to be outta there. There was a point during his rehab process in New York that some of the Spurs brass went out to see him in New York,” Wright shared. “As soon as those guys arrived to the building, Kawhi’s people grabbed him and sequestered him to another part of the building. And so the Spurs’ people couldn’t even see him.”

The relationship between the Spurs and Leonard has seemingly soured beyond repair but the legendary franchise is not prepared to ship the star away for scraps. In negotiations with the Lakers, the Spurs reportedly requested for players Brandon Ingram, Kyle Kuzma and Josh Hart in return along with two draft picks and a swap of two more picks. They also won’t field any offers that include Lonzo Ball. Reports also state now that Leonard will accept a trade to the Clippers, while the 76ers also are reported to have interest.

It will be interesting to see where Kawhi Leonard ultimately ends up. Where would you like to see him? let us know in the comments.
