The project is a long time coming, and it’s worth noting that the rapper dropped the project on the anniversary of his ex-wife Ciara’s marriage to football player Russell Wilson. The original Beast Mode anchored Future’s acclaimed 2015 mixtape run, and Zay teased the completion of a sequel one year later. In a recent interview, the producer said the pair selected the tape’s nine songs from over 100 tracks recorded over the last two-and-a-half years.
With the fruit of that labor finally out in the wild, fans have thoughts, ranging from proud to petty. As with any Nayvadius release, reactions split along the lines of what listeners prefer from the flexible vocalist, whether it be his melodic brooding or his superpower flexes.
