Snow and the rest of the multitude of runners braved through temperatures in the high 80s to run in the 48th iteration of the annual event, which aims to gather money for Atlanta area nonprofit organizations. This year’s recipients will be Atlanta Track Club’s Kilometer Kids, Jeezy’s Street Dreamz Foundation and the City of Atlanta, Mayor’s Youth Scholarship Program. Jeezy seemed to be glad to have done his part following the race.
“This is my actual first 10K,” he told reporters afterward. “Man, to run alongside Mayor Keisha Lance-Bottoms was definitely fun. And we was running for a great cause; for Kilometer Kids, her foundation, which is a scholarship foundation, and for my foundation which is Street Dreamz Foundation. We were trying to raise money for a good cause and it was fun. And I just happened to can run.”
The Pressure rapper noted his favorite part was, “Just seeing people’s family out there supporting them and people’s loved ones with the signs. Even the kids. I even think I saw a dog with a sign. It was entertaining.”
The AJC Peachtree Road Race is touted as the biggest 10K in America.
