T.I. May Join Eddie Murphy and Wesley Snipes in Rudy Ray Moore Biopic 'Dolemite Is My Name!'

The acting savvy of a rapper T.I. may just add another polished film to his resume. According to The Hollywood Reporter, the ATL extraordinaire is currently in the talks of possibly playing a role in the forthcoming biopic of one of Hip-Hop’s Godfathers, Rudy Ray Moore Dolemite Is My Name! brought by Netflix starring Eddie Murphy. Dolemite will also star Wesley Snipes, Mike Epps, and Tituss Burgess solidifying the preciseness of the film in homage of the late Moore.

The prospect role for the “U Don’t Know Me” rapper is that of a “flashy and funny” character who happens to be a movie producer. With knowledge on the persona of Moore, the role alludes sense being his signature records were filled with unapologetic humor and straight pizzazz.

Rudy Ray Moore is best known as being the vivid hustling pimp hero in the Dolemite film series. Permeated with Black ghetto fantasy tales, raw rhymes, and graphic comedic sketches, Moore subconsciously contributed to the blueprint of storytelling by the Hip-Hop emcee. Dolemite films were unapologetically vulgar, to an extent, the local record stores refused to sell Moore’s films. So rather than hitting the mainstream circuit, Moore became a hood hit star aka underground hit.

2018 appears to be a fruitful year for T.I. in the acting world as he will soon appear in Marvel’s Ant-Man and the Wasp as a member of a heist click, which is set to show in theaters of July 6. He will also star in a new business competition show, which takes after his persona, The Grand Hustle on BET which is set to premiere this summer.
