John Legend to Paul Ryan: ‘Seriously, F—k You’

While many parts of the country are in an uproar over Trump’s immigration policy, specifically the part that is tearing children away from their families, House Speaker Paul Ryan was busy creating a heartfelt family video for Father’s Day.

As most would easily sit back, scroll through timelines and “like” multiple this-is-how-much-I-love-my-dad posts, John Legend caught a glimpse of Ryan’s video on Twitter, and had a much different reaction.

Ryan’s video opened with him saying, “I think what happened to me when I became a father was it changed my ambitions.”

Legend took one look at the Republican speaker’s Twitter post, and three simple words came to mind: “Seriously, f—k you.”

The politically-involved singer aimed and fired at Ryan for boasting about his family when he’s literally tearing children away from families who are caught crossing the border to seek asylum, something Attorney General Jeff Sessions says will no longer be given to those fleeing gang and sexual violence.

Legend furthered his point by retweeting writer Saladin Ahmed, who said, “If you think stealing someone’s baby is a reasonable response to them crossing an imaginary line on the ground you are either brainwashed or a horrible person.”

With a surplus of immigrant children’s “camps” skyrocketing on the border, social media dubbed Trump and his administration as America’s “baby snatchers.”

Last week, Chrissy Teigen went as far as wishing Donald Trump a happy 72nd birthday and announced that she and every member of her family will donate $72,000 to the ACLU (American Civil Liberties Union) in the name “immigrant families seeking asylum and refuge in America.”
