After making fans suffer through the longest album drought in his career, Nas returns to form with his latest LP, Nasir. The album, which came as a surprise when it was first announced by Kanye West back in April, was premiered during a listening session in Queens in New York City on Thursday (June 14).
The outside listening session is becoming a thing for G.O.O.D. Music. A couple weeks ago, Kanye debuted his Ye album during a massive, star-studded listening event in Jackson Hole, Wyo. The following week, Kanye and Kid Cudi premiered their Kids See Ghosts joint album around a bonfire in Santa Clarita, Calif. Guests in attendance included Desiigner, YG, Lil Dicky, Makonnen, singer Ariana Grande, comedian Pete Davidson and many more. Nas continued the tradition, as he played his new project for fans, tastemakers and entertainers with the Queensboro bridge in the background.
The likes of Kanye West, Pusha T, 2 Chainz, LaLa Anthony, Consequence, Kim Kardashian, Steve Stoute and more were treated to multiple spins of the seven-song project which is heavily influenced by Yeezy, from the sample-laden instrumentals to the Chicago rapper’s multiple appearances on the LP. From the looks of things, people were feeling the new offering from God’s Son. The event also featured official album merch being sold.
The LP has not been delivered to streaming services, but if the past is any indication, we should be getting the release in a few hours.
