K Camp Reflects on Success in New "Wifi" Video – XXL

K Camp‘s next project, Rare Sound Vol. 1, is dropping soon, and his new “Wifi” video, released on May 17, offers a taste of what’s to come. Over icy production from EuroBeats, K Camp sounds proud, reflective and a little conflicted about navigating success, frustrated by the materialist pressures and transactional relationships that fame presents.

Marko Steez directs, dousing the video in nostalgic artificial film grain. The clip finds Camp rapping alone in a locker room, dancing with friends in a hallway and showing off the plaques he’s earned for his three platinum singles, “Comfortable,” “Cut Her Off” and “Money Baby,” spliced with footage of Camp performing at a recent concert. It’s not the first time the rapper has used his videos to ponder life in the public eye.

“When my niggas switched on me I was shocked/Shit I’m feeling I’ve been feeling, it’s a lot/How the hell you spent bout 60 on a watch?” Camp spits.

The song, which dropped on May 3, is the Atlanta crooner’s fourth solo release since his October mixtape, Slum Lords 2, following the singles, “To Whom It May Concern,” “Cranberry Juice” and a Moneybagg Yo remix of the mixtape cut, “Racks Like This.” The latter two tracks also received videos. It’s unclear whether any will be featured on Rare Sound Vol. 1, which does not have a release date yet.
